Albino Photo Shoot

I did my first photo shoot of the new year today, with the fantastic Photographer Georgina Robinson and the stunningly beautiful Megan Mcleod Whitaker as are model.

(One of the finished edits from todays shoot)

The concept of the make-up was to create an Albino look by making the skin look very pale with white eye lashes and brows, slightly contouring the cheek bones, and applying red eye shadow around the contours of the eyes.  As for the hair we kept it slicked back with gel and hair spray.

Can’t wait to see the rest of the finished edits as Megan took some amazing shots considering it was very cold today!

Byes e bye

I was browsing on google images for make-up ideas last night and saw this picture. I really like the colours and jewels used, and the shot too.  It's really inspired me to do a colourful avant garde make-up shoot, my magination is running wild!!!

Joining Twitter

When I first heard about Twitter was a few years ago on GMTV, and I didn't really understand why it was so popular.  My first thoughts were that it was something everyone started joining because a lot celebrity’s were on it.  I’d been on Facebook for about two and a half years and I love using it, and that no other networking site could compete with that.  But I’ve decided to give it a go and just signed up this evening.  So if any of you guys fancy following me the more the merrier!

You magazine Winter Wonderland Shoot

I'm now really sad that the snow has nearly gone as would have loved to have done a winter wonderland type shoot in the New Year.  My Mum and Dad always get a Mail on Sunday paper and I always have the You magazine that comes with it. I love looking through the fashion columns and the Jemma Kidd’s master class make-up page.

Well over Christmas I was looking through the 4 page fashion spread and loved the concept of the shoot they did, very much like Tim Walker style.  If they are predicting anymore snow then I love would to something like this, but can only hope.  Mind you I don’t like driving in it very much, so even if it was light snow then I’d be a happy bunny.  I love the make-up as it reminds me of The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe!

New Year, New Blog

Well I can't believe that the end of 2010 is nearly upon us and it seems to have gone in a flash.  I was thinking a few months back of how I wanted to create a blog of my life and my number one passion of being a make-up artist, which I can truly say is the best job in the entire world.  That way I can share with you all my experiences of what I get up to and what exciting new projects I’ve got lined up, what make-up and hair products and brands I like and have tried, and other people’s work that inspires me.

This year has been a busy one doing a number of different things such as weddings, makeover studio’s, photo shoots and a music video.  But I would like to spread my wings out a bit more and try something new, but I do have a few ideas up my sleeve.  That’s the thing I love about what I do is that there are no boundaries and that anything is possible.  I hope you enjoy this and Happy New Year!
